I don’t have a PayPal account, can I still buy the class?
Yes absolutely. PayPal is simply our payment processor but you do not need an account with PayPal. You can either pay by Debit/Credit Card or you can choose to setup or login to a PayPal Account – it’s up to you!
How do I buy a class if I am not in the UK?
You can buy a class from anywhere in the world. You will pay in your own currency and our payment processor will convert it into GBP at our end. This applies whether you are paying by Paypal Account or Debit/Credit Card.
How do I access the class after I buy it?
Your purchase will end on an Order Confirmation page. Scroll to the bottom of this page to find a link to your class. You will also have a link to your class in the Confirmation Email that is sent out automatically with each order. For more ways to access your class – see the How Do I Access My Classes? video above.
How do I access your free classes?
In order to access our free classes you still need to go through the checkout procedure, even though the class is completely free. The checkout will go through as normal but at no cost to you. This just enables you to set up your own personal account with us to access your classes at any time.
Why are some classes free and some classes paid?
We offer some free classes for basic beginner level learning. We believe that anyone can sew and we want to share our passion with as many people as possible! Our paid classes offer much greater in-depth tuition on a specific subject. If you are unsure about purchasing a class from us, requesting access to a free class will give you an insight into how our classes are filmed, our style of teaching and whether our classes will suit you. All at no cost to you.
How can I get a feel for a class before purchasing?
On each class page we give you a full description of the class and an overview of the skills you will learn. We will also tell you what materials you require to follow along with the class. At the bottom of each class page is a full list of the lessons and/or modules included. It may also be beneficial for you to look at reviews of the class from our customers.
How long have you been sewing and teaching for?
Rachel has been sewing since she was a teenager and Nikki has been sewing for 10 years now. We have both been teaching sewing for the last 6 years – 5 years teaching in person at the Sodbury Sewing School before launching our online classes in February 2019.
How do I ask questions during a class?
You will find a ‘Post a comment’ area at the bottom of each lesson and module. You can post your question there where others can benefit from seeing your question and our response. Alternatively, we can be contacted via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. We endeavour to get back to you as soon as possible but please note that we are based in the UK and there may be a time difference to where you are in the world.
What if the class isn’t what I was looking for?
We offer a 14-day money back guarantee if the class is not suitable for whatever reason.
Will there be downloads with the class and where can I access them?
We offer downloads where applicable on some classes. These downloads are available in your initial Confirmation Email after purchase. Downloads are also accessible in My Account under Downloads.
What should I do if I can’t log into my account?
If you are unable to log into your account it may be best to start by checking you are using the correct email address and resetting your password. If after doing these things you still cannot login, please message us at email@example.com and we can help you.
Where should a complete beginner start with your classes?
We recommend that you start with our FREE Learn to Sew class. Once you have learned the basic skill of using a sewing machine we would be happy to recommend further classes, free or paid, depending on what type of sewing you are interested in.
Are the machine classes applicable to any machine, not just the ones you use?
Absolutely! Most of what we cover is applicable to all machine brands and models – however we make sure to tell you where and how other machines could differ. We also advise you when to pause and consult your user manual to check for specific instructions.
Do your classes come with kits?
Our classes do not come with kits and you will need to provide all of your own materials and supplies. A list of what is needed is available on the class details page before you buy a class. All classes do come with full video instructions, including cutting requirements and patterns where applicable.
Do you offer a subscription service?
No. We prefer to let you pay only for the classes you need.

Some classes are taught by both Rachel and Nikki. Some of the shorter classes are taught by just one of us.
